Discover where to stay for gorilla trekking Uganda. Our guide highlights both budget, midrange, and luxury lodges found in and around Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is divided into four different sectors, which include Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, and Nkuringo. Accommodation is spread across the four sectors, and the lodge must match the trekking sector to stay closer and avoid long, exhausting drives before and after your gorilla trek. The trekking sector is determined by the gorilla permit available for booking through a tour operator. Accommodation should be booked once the permit is fully secured.
Buhoma sector
Located in the northern part of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Buhoma serves as the headquarters of the park and is the oldest sector, established in 1993. Buhoma is the most developed Bwindi sector, offering the best luxury lodges.
