DAY 1: KAMPALA/ENTEBBE
Arrival at Entebbe International Airport starting on your 15 Days Ultimate Ugandan Safari, meet your local Shoebill guide, and transfer to your hotel in Either Entebbe or Kampala. Depending on your time of arrival, there is an optional birding orientation at botanical gardens. There are various beautiful bird species here, if you are a keen birder. Monkeys and other wildlife are a common sight as well. Not forgetting the cool breeze from Lake Victoria. Dinner and Overnight (D)
DAY 2: KAMPALA-MMURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast begins the journey to Uganda’s most beautiful, protected park. Rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Masindi, lunch, and proceeding to Murchison Falls National Park. We will pass via top of the falls for a scenic view of the falls from above. Dinner and overnight (B-L-D)
DAY 3: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
After a rather early breakfast, we go for a morning game drive. Notable on the game drive are elephants, giraffes, lions, hartebeests, and many more. There are several bird species too here. Return to the lodge later, relax, and chat the mid-morning away. After lunch, launch a cruise on the Nile. There are several hippos and crocodiles, among other games. On a lucky day, you might see the Shoebill(s) from which our company derives its name. Dinner and overnight (B-L-D)
DAY 4: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK—KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
We depart Murchison Falls and head towards Fort Portal with lunch en route. Various stopovers to the beautiful landscapes. Optional visit to one of the local homes to equip yourself with the day-to-day life of the local people here and also to support the community. Proceed to Kibale. Dinner and overnight at (B-L-D)
DAY 5: KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
Morning walk to the chimpanzees. Kibale Forest has the highest concentration of primates in East Africa, a reason it’s known as the primate capital of Uganda. Kibale Forest is not only known for the chimps but also for other wildlife: forest elephants and monkeys. It’s also home to several forest bird species, among others. Afternoon community walk to the tea estates. Dinner and overnight at (B-L-D)
Day 6: Kibale Forest—Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The landscape along the route is breath-taking. It’s characterized by crater lakes, small lakes, and rolling hills. On a clear day, you will see the snow-capped Mt. Rwenzori National Park. Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Possible evening game drive. Dinner and overnight (B-L-D)
DAY 7: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
A rather early cup of tea or coffee, with our packed breakfast, we head to the Uganda Kobs mating ground. Look out for lions, elephants, buffaloes, and other wild animals in their natural habitat. Afternoon boat cruise along Kazinga Channel, a natural channel that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. There are vibrant wildlife species here like elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores. Dinner and overnight (B-L-D)
DAY 8: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK—BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, morning game drive through Ishasha sector area for chances of tree climbing lions and other game. Picnic lunch and proceed to Bwindi, a home to the endangered mountain gorillas arriving in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight (B-L-D)
DAY 9: BWIND IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
The highlight and probably the most memorable moment of your safari is meeting the gentle forest giants of Bwindi, the gorillas! Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions and occasional rain overhead before you encounter gorillas. However, the walk is worthwhile as you watch the family eat, play, and rest, typical of any kind of family. The silverback will constantly remind the babies to behave. Evening community walk, there are several craft shops where you can get authentic souvenirs. Dinner and overnight (B-L-D)
DAY 10: BWIND IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK-LAKE BUNYONYI
After breakfast, we depart to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Africa. Relax the evening away or go for a canoe trip and enjoy the beautiful sunset. Dinner and overnight at (B-L-D)
Day 11: Lake Bunyonyi
Whole day free, relaxing and resting from the challenging hike in Bwindi. Optional hikes to the Batwa community or nearby schools, swimming or canoeing. Dinner and overnight (B-L-D)
DAY 12: LAKE BUNYONYI—LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
Depart for Lake Mburo National Park after breakfast. Stop over for lunch in Mbarara or the Igongo cultural center. Proceed to Lake Mburo, arriving in the afternoon. Possible evening boat trip along Lake Mburo, from which the park derives its name. Dinner at overnight B/L/D
Day 13: Lake Mburos National Park
Early morning unlimited game drive in search of animals; afternoon game walk with the rangers for more animals. Dinner at overnight B/L/D
DAY 14: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK—KAMPALA/ENTEBBE
After breakfast, begin the journey back to Kampala. Picnic lunch at the Equator. Several craft shops here also make souvenir shopping much easier and more fun. Enjoy the experience of a lifetime at the Equator. Take a moment and stand at both the southern and northern hemispheres. Dinner and overnight
DAY 15: KAMPALA-JINJA-ENTEBBE
This will crown your visit to the pearl of Africa. Morning visit to the source of the Nile. Optional adventure: whitewater rafting Evening return back and departure back home or overnight. B/L.
