DETAILED 1 DAY MABAMBA SWAMP SHOEBILL BIRDING ITINERARY
You will be picked up from the hotel, meet and greet with your shoebill safari driver/guide, and then proceed to Mabamba Swamp using the Nakiwongo landing site route. This region of Uganda is bestowed with 330 species of birds, including the shoebill stork, the papyrus gonolek, and the blue swallow. The entire experience is sailing in wooden boats via the swamp, searching for shoebill storks, which mainly feed on fish, and other birds like blue-breasted bee-eaters, African pygmy geese, African and lesser jacanas, and pied kingfishers.

The swampy waters experience a cool breeze with beautiful scenery and vegetation on their shores. The birding adventure involves spending a couple of hours exploring this exciting nature. Later, proceed to Masaka, en route stopping at the Mpigi district, a known site of drum making, and learn also about the Buganda kingdom biographies. Carry on with your return to Entebbe International Airport via Kampala, the capital city of Uganda.
