Detailed 6 Days Kenya Safari Itinerary

Day 1 Transfer from Airport to Nairobi

On arrival at Kenyatta Airport, meet your tour planner who will introduce you to your safari driver guide. Receive your tour briefing and Safari vehicle for transfer to your hotel room for rest as you wait for your next day travel. Dinner this night will be served at the hotel.

Day 2: Nairobi-Maasai Mara

You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel in the morning and drive southwest to Maasai Mara. Have a stopover at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint to have a breathtaking view of the floor of the rift valley as you take some rest. Enjoy a hot lunch at Narok and thereafter proceed with a drive to Masai Mara for an evening game viewing drive in Maasai Mara Reserve. Then check in later for dinner and overnight at Rhino Tourist Mara.

Day 3: Maasai Mara National Reserve

Full-day game drive spent exploring the park in search of the Big 5. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopards, many kinds of antelopes, and elephants. It is in the Mara that the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place; this is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture to Maasai Mara. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna: lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures. Enjoy picnic lunch somewhere in the park. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 4: Maasai Mara—Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you will have a guided walk to Maasai village, then have a walk in the area to overview the Mara (3 hours). After the walk, you will depart and head to Nakuru. You will enjoy a hot lunch on the way to arrive in the evening for the game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park. In the heart of the Kenyan Great Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru hosts one of the greatest bird spectacles on the planet as hundreds of thousands of greater and lesser pink flamingos’ flock, in blankets of pink, to the water’s edge to feed on the lake’s algae. This is among the most beautiful destinations in Kenya you can’t miss visiting. Dinner and overnight at Lanet Matfam Resort.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru-Naivasha

After your breakfast, depart for a game drive in Nakuru National Park. Exit the park at around noon, and you will continue to Naivasha with lunch on the way. Arrive for Naivasha, and you can enjoy a boat ride, which your driver guide will assist to organize for you. Dinner and overnight at Taphe Tourist Guest Resort.

Day 6: Hells Gate, Nairobi

After breakfast, you will depart for a visit of Hells Gate and later on return to Nairobi, enjoying lunch on the way. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at your Nairobi City Hotel/Airport. You can also explore Hells Gate using bicycles, which your driver guide can organize at minimal cost.

Lake Naivasha is the highest of the Rift Valley lakes (at 1884 m above sea level). Hugged by grassy banks and shingled with cacti and sand olive trees. The lake extends like a vast, sunlit sea. Stand on one side of it, and you won’t see the other only clouds of water birds and the pinkened ears of hippos, peeking like submarine periscopes above the surface. Superb starlings, whose eyes shine like sequins, flit between the acacia trees.
