3 days Chimpanzee tracking Kibale forest

3 days Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale forest National Park, which is a national park in southern Uganda, protecting moist evergreen rain forest. It is 766 square kilometers in size and is located between 1,100 meters to 1,600 meters in elevation. Kibale is known to be the “Primate Capital of the World” and is famous for its chimpanzee tracking /trekking as the main activity and having over 200 individuals of chimps in the community used for tourism purpose.

DAY 1 : DRIVE TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

You will be picked from your accommodation area after having early morning breakfast and drive southwest via Mubende- Fort Portal to Kibale. Kibale is known to be home of chimps and famous for its chimp tracking activity. You will reach in the late afternoon and check in to your allocated accommodation for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2 : CHIMPANZEE TRACKING & NATURE WALK

Today you will wake up with an early morning breakfast and later head for an early morning briefing by the park guide at Kanyanchu visitors centre before you set of for the tracking which may last for 3-5 hours depending on how close the chimp community is and you will spend one hour in contact with chimps looking at their social ways of life such as feeding, breeding, grooming etc. Later return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation
In the afternoon you will head for a swamp walk in Bigodi swamp which is a community based conservation project that harbors over 140 bird species and variety of primates such as the red colobus monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys etc. Later return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: DRIVE BACK TO KAMPALA

After having the morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge, get to the vehicle and drive back to Kampala reaching in the late afternoon. End of service!!
