12 DAYS UGANDA, RWANDA GORILLAS AND WILDLIFE SAFARI

Overview
Explore Uganda and Rwanda wildlife in a single trip meeting the Mountain gorillas, great game viewing and golden monkeys.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe international airport
You will be picked by our Shoebill safaris driver/guide on arrival at the airport to brief you on the trip and transfer you to the hotel. Dinner and night stay at 2 friends Hotel Entebbe.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast at the lodge, you will set off for the famous Murchison falls, you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola for Rhino tracking. This is the only place in the country where Rhinos are found. You will trek these giant mammals until you reach them to learn about how they live in their natural habitat. you will then proceed to Murchison falls and visit the top of the falls depending on the lodge you will be sleeping in that day.

Day 3: Murchison falls National Park
This day after your morning breakfast, head out for a spectacular game drive at the northern banks of River Nile. Enjoy great game viewing in an open roofed safari car, looking out for Hyenas, Leopards, Lions, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Kobs and several antelopes. This part of the park is offers a great habitat due its savanna grassland. After this return to the lodge for lunch and get ready for a boat cruise in the afternoon. Get ready to set your eyes on schools of hippos and Nile crocodiles as you head to the bottom of the falls. Several birds are seen in this area including the rare shoebill stork and other mammals coming to cool of the hot weather on the waters.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park
Kibale is famously known for the high number of Chimpanzees. You will rise up early and depart after breakfast and proceed to Kibale National park through the western countryside and arrive in the late afternoon hours. Check in, relax and have your dinner and night star at Chimpanzee Guest house.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking at Kibale NP
Have an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing before you set out to the forest in search for the habituated chimpanzees. Kibale has the highest concentration of Chimps and several other primates. The walk to the home of Chimps will also enable you set your eyes on several monkeys and birds in this area. You will be allowed to spend a full hour with a habituated group of Chimps taking memorable pictures and learning about them. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch have a you will have a swamp tour at Bigodi swamp where you will set your eyes on several plant species, birds as well as primates. Return to the lodge for dinner and night stay at Chimpanzee guest house.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After a delicious breakfast, you will depart for a 2-3 hours’ drive to queen Elizabeth national park another home for great game. Check in to the lodge for lunch and head out for a boat cruise at Kazinga Channel for a superb moment. Watch out for the hippos, crocodiles, birds, buffaloes, and other mammals coming to cool off the hot afternoon. Return to the lodge for dinner and nigh stay.
Day 7: Transfer to Inshasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park
Wake up to a delicious breakfast and transfer to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park for the tree climbing lions. Apart from the lions, we shall have a chance to watch several game including the Warthogs, Buffaloes, elephants and several antelopes. You’ll later return to the lodge, relax and have dinner and night stay.
Day 8: Drive to Rwanda for Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast this morning, you will have a short game drive to look out for mammal species that you could have missed the previous day. You will then set off to the republic of Rwanda to do Gorilla tracking in the Volcanoes. You will arrive in the late afternoon through Katuna boarder and check in to the lodge for dinner and night stay at the lodge.
Day 9: Gorilla tracking – Volcanoes NP
After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will be driven to the park headquarters for this great activity tracking the mountain Gorillas in the dense forest of Volcanoes national park. Briefing is done by park rangers before you’re led to the direction of the habituated Gorilla group allocated to you. Gorilla tracking takes 2-8 hours depending on the location of Gorillas. You will be allo3wed to spend one full hour watching the behavior of the Gorillas as the guide explains to you the different things they do. You will later return to the park headquarters for you tracking certificate as a sign of appreciation for your participation in the conservation of these endangered apes. Return to the lodge for relaxation and night stay at the lodge.
Day 10: Golden Monkey tracking
On this day after morning breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters again for briefing and then be led to the forest in search for habituated Golden monkeys’ family. Tracking them is similar to gorilla tracking that you will need to be fit and ready to hike into the Virunga mountains to find them. Once you find a habituated group, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour with them as you take memorable pictures and learning about their daily lives. It takes between 30 minutes to 4 hours to find them and you will return to the lodge later for lunch and later have a city tour. You’ll have a visit to the urban markets, genocide memorial grounds and then return to the lodge for overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 11: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
After an early breakfast, you will transfer to Nyungwe through the countryside of this country of a thousand hills. Enjoy great views of Rwanda’s rolling hills, you will also meet the local people as they go about their daily lives. We shall arrive at Nyungwe in the evening hours and check into the lodge for dinner and night stay.

Day 12: Canopy Walk and departure
After breakfast at the lodge, you will report at Uwinka Visitors’ Center for briefing before you set off to the suspended walk way on top of the forest. The canopy is one of its kind in East Africa, you will be led by park guides for a 2 hours walk above the forest watching several primates and birds and the forest from above. This is arguably one of the most exciting safari experiences that leaves your mind blown at the amazing walk. Return to the lodge, check out and depart to the airport for your flight home.
