Rwanda Development Board is the only authorized government body to issue this document in Rwanda. Gorilla Trekking takes place in the Volcanoes national park that is located in the northern part of Rwanda. It’s a 2hrs drive from Kigali International airport making it the most accessible national park for the travelers.

Cost of Gorilla Permits in Rwanda
Gorilla permits cost $1500 per person in Rwanda for all travelers who intend to visit habituated mountain Gorillas. The cost was raised in May 2015 by Rwandan authorities from $750 per person to $1500. The purpose of the increase was to conserve the national park while they maintain the revenues from the Gorilla tracking activity. The other reason was to distinguish Rwanda as a High end destination for high end class. This is witnessed by the luxurious accommodation in Kigali city.
