New baby Gorilla for Mishaya Gorilla Group

Its great celebration as Mishaya Gorilla family in Bwindi impenetrable forest National Park in the southern part known as Rushaga. Rushaga sector has the highest number of families among which we find Mishaya Gorilla group. Mishaya family got a new baby Gorilla at the early days of March 2020 and the baby and the mother are in perfect health. This brings the number of the family to 12 which is a great achievement.
Mishaya Gorilla family started in 2011 by a dominant male called Mishaya. Mishaya separated from Nshongi family after several fights and left with some females to start his own family. some of the Family members include Mize, Rutaro, Mwiza and Bakunzi among others.
Mishaya the dominant silverback unfortunately died in in 2014 at the age of 28 and the circumstances of his death were unclear since he was found dad in the morning hours by the park officials. Mishaya gorilla group has a lot of history that you should never miss on your Gorilla trekking visit to Bwindi Impenetrable forest.
WHERE TO GET GORILLA PERMITS
Gorilla permits are issued by Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) through trusted Uganda tour operators(Shoebill Safaris) at least 3 months before the travel date. The best way to book would actually be 6 months and above due to the high demand for the permits especially in the peak season when most people are coming for the same.
COST OF A GORILLA TRACKING PERMIT
A gorilla permit costs 600USD per person in Uganda but will be at 700USD effective 1st July 2020, Rwanda gorilla permits cost 1500USD per person for anyone planning to meet these endangered creatures
