20 DAYS/19 NIGHTS UGANDA GAME AND CULTURAL TRAIL

DAY 1: Arrival, meet your local Shoebill smiling guide at Entebbe international Airport. Transfer to your Hotel for a dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: ENTEBBE-MURCHISON FALLS
After breakfast drive North West from Kampala to Masindi Hotel for lunch. Proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. Murchison covers 3,840-sq km and has recorded 76 mammal species and over 450 bird species. It lies 619m at the delta and 1,292 at Rabongo Hill. The mean temperature is 0C- high and 21 0C- low. Evening hike, top of the falls and view falls from above, this is a spectacular sight, seeing falls from above.

DAY 3:MURCHISON FALLS
After a rather early breakfast, morning games drive. There are chances of spotting unique African savannah animals like giraffes, Lions, Elephants and several antelopes. Afternoon, we’ll cruise to the bottom of the falls. The falls are rare and magnificent, they are one of Africa’s wonders and a must see for everyone. We of course cannot fail to mention that it’s from these falls that Murchison derives its name. Catch up with pods of Hippos, crocodiles and a vast number of water birds. There are high chances of seeing the Shoebill stock from which our company derives its name.

DAY 4:MURCHISON FALLS – KIBALE
After breakfast on our way out another possible drive to the top of the falls for a breathtaking sight and we’ll have the opportunity to experience this massive rush of water at close range as it splashes and forces its way through and above the rocks taking the pathway to the base of the falls and back. Drive to Kibale National Park for yet another exiting adventure.

DAY 5: KIBALE
After breakfast, chimp tracking, and meet the rather real cousins of humans’ beings. There is a rich bird life in this forest. If you are a keen birder you will record a reasonably high number of different bird species. Notable are various monkeys that keep tossing from one tree to another as you walk along. Lunch at the lodge, Afternoon visit Tooro palace located just on the outskirts of Fort portal town. Learn the Tooro culture and if possible meet the youngest king.

DAY 6: KIBALE
Fort portal boost of rich cultural sites and beautiful crater lakes that tell of the past history. After breakfast visit the Famous Mabereganyinamwiru and see what the locals call milk that flows from the breasts of a said woman who was thrown in that valley. Visit the various crater lakes and the valleys and here the stories surrounding these areas.

DAY 7: KIBALE-QUEEN ELIZABETH
After breakfast transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, possible visit to the local community leaving in the Park. Learn how these people co-exist with the animals in the Park.

High end: Hippo Lodge (FB)

DAY 8: QUEEN ELIZABETH
After breakfast whole day with the locals, have a chance of participating, organizing and attending a typical kind of an African wedding. Learn how food is prepared locally and generally what are the dos and don’ts in a local African wedding Return to your lodge for an overnight.

DAY 9: QUEEN ELIZABETH
After a cup of tea or coffee morning game drive to the vast park for any chances of the early hunting cats, herds of elephants, antelopes, buffalos and many more. Return to the camp for a full breakfast, free time, after lunch go for the launch cruise on the famous Kazinga channel where you get to the schools of Hippos, buffalos and a variety of beautiful water bird species like jacanas, fish eagles, Shoebill and pelicans along the channel. DAY 10: QUEEN ELIZABETH-BWINDI IMPENATRABLE
After breakfast transfer southwards to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth N.P in Ishasha where there are chances of seeing the tree-climbing lions. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is home to the forest giants that are cousins to human beings, the gorillas. This Impenetrable Forest is still one of the best virgin tropical rain forests in East Africa. Keen birders will love this Park too.

DAY 11:BWINDI IMPENETRABLE
After breakfast, briefing, gorilla tracking and if time allows, evening community walk and entertainment around the fire place by the locals. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is the home to the forest giants that are cousins to human beings, the gorillas. This Impenetrable Forest is still one of the best virgin tropical rain forests in East Africa.

DAY 12: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE- KISORO
After breakfast begin the journey to Kisoro. Beautiful scenery along the way. Evening relaxation and enjoy the cool breeze from the hills or if possible visit Lake Mutanda.

DAY 13: KISORO
After breakfast begin the tracking of the beautiful Mgahinga National Park in search for the Golden Monkey. Optional hiking to the volcanic area Mt. Sabinyo. This is a bit tiresome but manageable.

DAY 14: KISORO-LAKE BUNYONYI
After breakfast transfer to Kabale otherwise known as the little Switzerland of Africa. Enjoy the scenery along the route. Learn how the locals amazingly dig through terraces on the steep hills. Proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and overnight. Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest Lake and a perfect place for relaxation. If you are looking for a rather private, lonely and romantic place, then Lake Bunyonyi Is the number one stop in Uganda.

DAY 15: LAKE BUNYONYI
Wake up to the sweet songs of the birds as they wake you up to the cool morning breeze blowing from Lake Bunyonyi, Optional canoe boat trip, or take a hike around the island for both exercise and visit the locals who stay on these mountains. Evening time free and enjoy the cool breeze or have an optional deep in the Lake.

DAY 16: LAKE BUNYONYI
Whole day stay with the local community learn the day to day lives of the Batwa (pygmies of Uganda ) These people are excellent story tellers, they are delighted to meet different people and always have a lot to share. If you are a keen birder there is a rich bird life here including the pelicans, Uganda’s crowned cranes and the kingfishers.

DAY 17: LAKE BUNYONYI –LAKE MBURO
After breakfast begin our journey to Lake Mburo National Park for yet another exciting game like. Lake Mburo boosts of a variety of game including zebra, eland, and impala, which are not found in most other National Parks in Uganda. Additionally Lake Mburo has big numbers of waterbuck, topi, buffalo, hippo, duiker, bushbuck, klipspringer and on a good lucky day you will see oribi, reedbuck, leopard and crocodiles.

DAY 18: LAKE MBURO – KAMPALA
After breakfast, with our luggage morning game drive and proceed to Kampala Lunch enroute, enjoy the green along the route plus the famous Ankole long horned cattle. Stop over at the equator for snap shots of a lifetime. Have a chance to be in the South and Northern hemispheres at the same time. Medium Range: City Sanctuary(FB)

DAY 19: KAMPALA-ENTEBBE
Morning visit the various cultural sites of Buganda located around Kampala among which include: Kabakas Palace BulangeMengo, Kasubi tombs and many more. Evening shopping African arts and crafts. If departing late, departure or overnight.
